I am thankful for you, for reading this blog. It’s a new venture, and one about which I am excited. I am glad to have each of you along for the ride.
It is now approaching two years since I lost my last full-time job with an architecture firm. Since then, I have been through all the ups and downs of unemployment. I have been hopeful, desperate, frightened, confused, and resigned to my fate. I have worked for the Census and I have volunteered. I have attended networking events, professional development seminars, and resume workshops. I have used Twitter, LinkedIn, and architecture web sites to stay connected with the industry and reach out to both working and out-of-work architects around the globe. I have found common cause with other unemployed professionals across various fields.
